The global Receivables Supply Chain Finance market size is predicted to grow from US$ million in 2025 to US$ million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of % from 2025 to 2031.
Receivables Supply Chain Finance (SCF) is a financing solution initiated by the buyer where the buyer agrees to pay an invoice early for a discount. The benefit to the buyer is a discount on the invoice price. The benefit to the supplier is that they receive payment sooner and at a lower interest rate than what they would normally get from a bank or a factor.
SCF is also known as reverse factoring, because unlike traditional factoring where a supplier sells its receivables at a discount to a third party (a factor) for early payment, SCF is initiated by the buyer and the supplier retains ownership of the receivables until they are paid by the buyer.
SCF involves three parties: the buyer, the supplier, and a financier or factor. The financier or factor provides the funding for the early payment of the invoices and charges a fee based on the credit risk of the buyer. The financier or factor may also provide other services such as managing and administering the accounts receivable, covering for bad debts, and providing access to an electronic platform for SCF transactions.
